There hasn’t been much basketball recruiting news of late, partly because NC State’s 2019 class is going to be small. Kevin Keatts and his staff aren’t out evaluating a ton of guys. But one of the players they have been focusing on heavily is guard Jalen Lecque.
Lecque announced his final seven schools on Thursday, and not surprisingly, NC State made the cut. Oregon, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Louisville, UCLA, and TCU are the others.
I would like to thank all the schools that have recruited me through my basketball career. It was a hard decision on narrowing down my list in colleges to choose from, but these are the schools I have chosen for my top 7❗️❗️ @TiptonEdits pic.twitter.com/uW0QKoJ5Rj

Lecque, who will be spending his final high school season playing for prep powerhouse Brewster Academy, is a consensus five-star prospect in the 2019 class. The 6’4 guard ranks 13th overall in the 247Sports Composite. Prior to transferring to Brewster, he attended the Christ School in North Carolina.
NC State by most accounts is in good shape—maybe not the favorite, but near the top of his list.
He averaged 20 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds during his junior season.
