Jalen Lecque has been informed that he is eligible for the 2019 NBA Draft despite not playing a year in college, and not surprisingly, he’s going to test the waters. Lecque made that move official on Saturday afternoon.

This move does not come as a surprise. He retains the option of going to college in the fall if he wants to, so there’s no downside to going through workouts and getting feedback from NBA personnel. I’m sure he’d like to stay in the draft and could well decide to do so even if he’s told that he won’t be a first round pick.
It just depends on how patient he’s willing to be. As an early entrant, he’ll have until the tail end of May to withdraw his name from draft consideration, and we may not know about his future plans before then. If he does stay in the draft, it would make room for another potential addition from the grad transfer ranks.
