NC State is a bit late to the party in the recruitment of in-state point guard Jalen Cone, but it appears the talented prospect is becoming a priority for the Wolfpack staff. The entire staff was on hand to watch him today, in fact, and Cone now has a scholarship offer.

Cone is an interesting case because he could reclassify into 2019 if he wants ... or wait and graduate with the 2020 class. State’s staff has reportedly given him the option to join the Pack in either year.
So read into that what you will as it relates to the status of Jalen Lecque and/or Markell Johnson, both of whom are going through the NBA Draft process. It sure seems like the coaches are expecting another scholarship to open up in the near future.
Cone is a top-100 player from Walkertown, NC, which is outside of Winston-Salem. He’s listed at 5’11 and 163 pounds by 247Sports.
