With Valpo transfer Derrik Smits picking Butler over NC State and Arizona State, the Wolfpack’s search for frontcourt help moves onward. The Pack is recruiting Wofford undergraduate transfer Keve Aluma, per Jeff Goodman. (Goodman’s tweet also contains an amusing typo.)
The 6’9 Aluma averaged 6.9 points and 6.8 rebounds as a sophomore for the Terriers this season. He’ll sit out 2019-20 and have two years of eligibility remaining. He is also being recruited by VCU, Arkansas, Houston, and Oklahoma State.
Aluma was an extremely light-usage player for Wofford at the offensive end but highly efficient with his opportunities; he hit 65.1% of his twos in 2019 and is a career 62.8% shooter inside the arc. He is also an exceptional rebounder who led the SoCon in offensive rebounding percentage during league play.
We’ll see where this goes. But play attention because in June there will be a quiz on the 86 transfers NC State has tried to recruit during this cycle.
