For too long, NC State has made the mistake of arrogantly ignoring dudes right in its backyard, because they didn’t fit some sort of pre-ordained profile, because they didn’t come with enough hype, or whatever.
Bad coaches who don’t understand what NC State is about, who don’t get what NC State should be about, accept this willingly. This is why Kevin Keatts is so refreshing; he gets it. He’s been here long enough—it did take a minute—but he gets it.
Anyway, Breon Pass committed to the Wolfpack today:
Breon Pass has committed to NC State ❤️

• Avg 21.1 pts, 7.3 asts, 7.6 rebs his Junior year & led team to a 26-3 record
• 1,763 pts in career so far
• Became the 68th player in NC history to score 50 pts in a game
• Received All-State & Player of the Year honors pic.twitter.com/8cun4lt6fJ
This is a big-time pick-up. Breon Pass also could have been a major college football recruit if he wanted to be, but he chose instead to give up football and focus on basketball. Pass is an exceptional athlete, but one that tends to get overlooked for a variety of reasons.
In other words, Breon Pass is exactly the sort of player NC State should be gunning for.
