East Carolina transfer forward Jayden Gardner is down to five finalists: NC State, Virginia, LSU, Miami, and Arkansas. So, uh, decent chance he’s playing somewhere in the ACC next season. Might as well be NC State, if you ask me.

Let’s get a vibe check from ECU fans on this development.
Jaden, we love you. Please don't make us watch you at State. Please!!!!!

Can’t say that I blame the sentiment, but it is an amusing added layer to this particular transfer saga.
Gardner should be an immediate impact player in the frontcourt wherever he ends up; he averaged 18 points and 18 boards for the Pirates this season, which was his junior year. (Or Sophomore Year II? Invisi-Junior Year? They need to figure out some terminology for all this free eligibility.)
