A day after the men's team delivered a crucial win at home, the women did the same, though it was crucial for a different reason--the Wolfpack Women are in the NCAA tournament, it's simply a matter of where they are seeded. And to that end, they did themselves a huge favor by knocking off a top-10 Maryland team.

Markeisha Gatling did here usual thing, hitting 7-of-10 from the floor--she came into the night shooting 69.1% from the field. Frontcourt counterpart Kody Burke struggled to find her scoring rhythm but hauled in a team-high 10 rebounds.

State's been really tough in Reynolds all year; the Pack hasn't lost a game at home yet. They weren't at their best offensively, but they were still good enough to beat the Terps, and that's an encouraging indicator for what this team could do in March.

NC State (19-3, 6-2) is now 4-1 against the RPI top 50 with sole possession of third place in the ACC. There's opportunity for several more quality wins next month, and with the way the schedule sets up, the Wolfpack easily could be 22-3 heading into a rematch with UNC.
