NC State will host Michigan in 2015 ACC/Big Ten Challenge

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

NC State's matchup in the 2015 ACC/Big Ten Challenge will be Michigan, according to a report from ESPN's Brett McMurphy. That'll be a nice early-season test for the Wolfpack, and a home game as well. State and Michigan have some history in this event, and last played each other in 2012. The Wolverines won that game by seven.

The rest of the matchups for the Challenge are trickling out this afternoon; Georgia Tech is the ACC squad that has the dubious distinction of sitting out the event this season. More games:

Maryland-UNC is the obvious headliner with both of those teams certain to rank in the preseason top five, but there are a lot of good potential games here, NCSU-Michigan included. Should be fun. Will be more fun if the ACC can actually win this dang thing again.

I wouldn't have minded a rematch with Purdue because we owe those guys some payback, but no doubt Michigan will be more valuable from a resume perspective.
