Since the NCAA announced that NC State guard Braxton Beverly would have to sit out the 2017-18 season due to nonsense technicality, the response has been swift, and it’s been just about all negative. Not just from Wolfpack fans, but from media members as well.
Everyone realizes this ruling is beyond terrible; well, everyone but the folks at the NCAA, I guess. If we’ve gotten nothing else out of this, at least we’ve gotten to watch the NCAA get dragged in public.
Here is a sampling that I’ve collected over the last couple days:
I’m told even Ohio State, where Beverly initially enrolled, helped NC State with the waiver. And the NCAA still denied it. Shameful. https://t.co/l2nAHQmviK

Ohio State even helped plead Beverly’s case and it didn’t matter! Parrish also penned a column on this mess.
NCAA continues to make indefensible decisions. NC State’s Braxton Beverly’s appeal was denied by NCAA. Unconscionable. Wrong. Embarrassing.

Usually when NCAA gets called out on stupid, hypocritical decision, it reverses itself. Not in Braxton Beverly case. On the same day UNC got off scot-free on 18 years of academic fraud (admitted to by school) Beverly denied playing this yr. because he WENT TO CLASS briefly at OSU

Frosh Braxton Beverly had audacity to take summer classes. Then Thad Matta was fired. Now has to sit out at NC State this year. Oh NCAA why?

.@NCAA FAILS to use common sense/BRAXTON BEVERLY should be eligible /deserves a waiver/ help kids don’t hurt them!https://t.co/VbA082sHT6
