NC State closes out regular season with 78-74 loss at Clemson

NCAA Basketball: North Carolina State at Clemson Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

NC State didn’t play poorly at Clemson on Wednesday night, at least not at the offensive end. Still the Pack was not good enough to overcome the Tigers, who are absolutely desperate for wins right now. State closed out its regular season with 78-74 loss.

I could probably quibble on this one, on some plays that went one way or not the other, but I also realize when a year is over and when there’s zero point in wasting time trying to argue the opposite.

Clemson was not necessarily the better team Wednesday night, but Clemson won, and that is how it’s gone for Wolfpack hoops the majority of this year. State managed some solid individual performances and even shut down Jeron Blossomgame for an entire half, but it wasn’t enough.

So NC State closes out the 2017 season at 4-14 in ACC play. State is 9-27 in league play over the last two seasons.
