Kevin Keatts’ NC State contract worth $2.2 million annually over 6 years, per report

New NC State head coach Kevin Keatts will be receive a salary worth more than $13 million over six years, and if it’s a typical Debbie Yow contract, there will also be plenty of incentives as well. Keatts is getting a base $2.2 million over six years, per Joe Giglio.

The introductory press conference for Keatts is expected on Sunday, according to WRAL’s Jeff Gravley. The women’s basketball team also has an NCAA tournament game to play on Sunday, so I’m guessin’ these two things will not overlap. The women’s hoops game time has yet to be set.

I’m still mildly surprised this is over so quickly, even though Thursday’s tourney games helped make it feasible. The search was quick, it was quiet, and Debbie Yow got the coach she wanted. In the past we could complain about the process, but not this time around, and that’s a start I’m more than willing to take.
