Kevin Keatts has a new six-year contract that runs through the 2023-24 season. The deal, which was approved by the NC State Board of Governors on Friday, raises Keatts’ annual compensation by $400,000 annually, bringing it to $2.7 million per year. Merry Christmas to the Keatts family!

You could consider this a preemptive strike on NC State’s part since it looks like Keatts will have the Wolfpack back in the NCAAs for a second consecutive season. His early success in Raleigh makes him an attractive candidate pretty much everywhere and the new contract is an important show of faith and support.

It’s also helpful in recruiting when a coach can walk into a kid’s house and assure everyone that he’s going to be around for a long time. Kevin Keatts is a winner and plans on being a winner for quite some time, son, now let’s go do some winning basketball together.
