Former NC State point guard Dennis Smith Jr. was officially announced as a participant in the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest on Thursday night. DSJ, I’m gonna guess, will be the first former NC State player to participate in this event since Spud Webb.

DSJ will be competing against Victor Oladipo, Larry Nance Jr., and Aaron Gordon. Here’s hoping he can do some fun dunk things and win the contest.

Dennis is also playing in the rising stars game, which showcases some of the NBA’s top first- and second-year players. That game will be played on Friday, Feb. 16, at 9 p.m. ET on TNT. It’s a World vs. USA format this year. (Like anybody cares.)

The dunk contest is the following night and will be televised by TNT beginning at 8 ET.
