NC State is back in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2015 Hurray and what have ya. NC State is the No. 9 seed in the Midwest and will open the tournament against No. 8 Seton Hall in Wichita, KS. The winner of that game will most likely face No. 1 seed Kansas in the second round.
Both Clemson (No. 5) and Duke (No. 2) are also in the Midwest.

Based on the seed that NC State received, it was pretty comfortably in the field—well above the cut line, not a consideration for the First Four in Dayton. That’s pretty much what had been anticipated in the last few days leading up to the tournament unveiling.
So we’ll begin with Seton Hall, and I’ll need some time to digest the overall draw, but I don’t hate it. Beating Kansas in Wichita will be difficult—if that game happens to materialize—but my main thing was avoiding the UVA/Villanova pods, and I got that wish.
Not going to worry about that right now—we’ve got at least one more game left this season, and that’s awesome, and I feel pretty good about it.
