About a month after parting ways with NC State, Omer Yurtseven has landed at Georgetown, where he’ll conclude his college career assuming he doesn’t opt to turn pro instead.
It’s disappointing that things couldn’t work out for him in Raleigh, but I understand if he felt that Kevin Keatts’ system wasn’t the best fit. He got a lot better this past season, regardless, and it would have been nice to see that progress continue unfolding at State. Alas.
At least this doesn’t come as a shock to the basketball program’s system, since Keatts and company have known for a while that they would not have Yurtseven on the team next season. And we don’t play Georgetown in the near future, probably. See, look at all these positives I’m finding all over the place. So many positives!
If we survived the Martin twins leaving and taking another school to the Sweet Sixteen, then we’ll survive this one too. Gonna be weird seeing Yurt in that Georgetown uniform though.
