Good news, everyone! NC State officially has a big man with D-I experience who will play next season. Samford graduate transfer Wyatt Walker announced today his commitment to NC State.

Thankfully this terrible photoshop was not a setback in the recruiting process.
Walker has two years of eligibility left despite being a grad transfer, which is pretty ideal. He missed most of last season with an injury, though that didn’t deter other high-major programs like Wisconsin and Oklahoma State from showing interest.
The impressive thing about this kid is his rebounding ability—he is really good at both ends of the floor, and this was a significant area of need for the Wolfpack. In his last healthy season, he ranked 68th nationally in offensive rebounding percentage and 47th in defensive rebounding percentage. That’s what you want out of a big man, the other stuff aside.
But he’s also a pretty good scorer, which is also helpful. He’s made nearly 59% of his two-point attempts in his career, and he’s good at getting to the free throw line, where he’s a career 74% shooter.
