NC State announces addition of forward Wyatt Walker to basketball program

You knew about this already but now it’s officially official.

NCAA Basketball: Samford at Cincinnati David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

Samford graduate transfer big man Wyatt Walker committed to NC State last week, but you know, there is paperwork to be done, Twitter profiles to update, and various other procedural things to be completed before a school announces the addition of a player. Walker’s addition to the program is official now.

Walker has two seasons of college eligibility remaining if he wants ‘em. He spent the majority of last season sidelined by injury, but that did little to hurt his value on the transfer market this spring. Here are some highlights from his time at Samford:

Walker hit an overtime game-winner against Wofford during his sophomore season—he scored 25 in that contest, including a 9-10 effort from the free throw line. It’s gotta be the hair, Cotton.

The free throw shooting will translate, and if his rebounding numbers do too, he’ll be a crucial part of the lineup in Kevin Keatts’ second season.
