NC State announced this afternoon that it plans to honor both T.J. Warren and Bradley Chubb. Warren will have his name in the rafters at PNC Arena, while Chubb will be added to the ring of honor (or whatever you want to call it) at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Neither uniform number (24 for Warren and 9 for Chubb) is being retired and will continue to be worn by Wolfpack athletes in their respective sports. Chubb will be added to the patch on the No. 9 jersey that had previously only honored Mario Williams.
This honor was inevitable for Chubb, who left State as the school’s all-time sacks leader. But here is a discussion we can have since it’s the offseason: is one great year enough to warrant putting T.J. Warren’s name in the rafters? I say yes, but I could maybe see an argument to the contrary.
