We don’t have the full picture yet, but it’s safe to say that NC State’s non-conference is going to look quite a bit different in Kevin Keatts’ second season. The latest addition to the slate is Penn State, which NC State will play in the first-ever Boardwalk Classic.
The event features eight teams, but it is not a tournament—rather, there’s just going to be a quadruple header of games on Saturday Dec. 15. Here are the four matchups:
NC State vs. Penn State
Virginia Tech vs. Washington
Iona vs. Princeton
Davidson vs. Temple
Game times and television information have not been announced; I would imagine these games will end up on national TV somewhere, even if it’s just the games between power-conference schools.
With this addition, NC State now has four power-conference teams on its 2018-19 schedule: Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Auburn, and Penn State. NC State played three power-conference opponents last year, two of those coming in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
