Jericole Hellems was taken to the hospital in Winston-Salem on Saturday afternoon as a precaution for the injury he suffered late in NC State’s win over the Demon Deacons. Hellems was back in Raleigh by Sunday morning, per the team.
Jericole Hellems Update:
— NC State Men's Bball (@PackMensBball) December 8, 2019
Jericole has been released from the hospital and has returned to Raleigh. He is in good spirits and will follow up with NC State physicians over the next several days. Coach Keatts will update Jericole’s status later this week.
Hellems was treated for a possible concussion and back injury after enduring a rough collision with a couple of Wake players while attempting to grab a rebound. He was in obvious pain after one of those Wake players landed hard on him, and was taken off on a cart as a precaution.
NC State will be off all week for exams, so he’s got some extra time to recover if he needs it. But if he did suffer a concussion, there’s no telling what sort of timetable he may be looking at.
I appreciate All the love WPN has showed me. I will be okay the Lord has me and I know I’m blessed. Thank you again to all that reached out. ❤️
