T.J. Warren will have his uniform honored prior to NC State’s game against Wake Forest on Sunday night, and that’s a perfectly good excuse to go back and watch some highlights from Warren’s brilliant sophomore season.
Warren posted back-to-back 40-point games to help the Wolfpack solidify an NCAA tournament bid in 2014. The first of those came at Pittsburgh:
I like how that video ends up as basically a supercut of Cory Alexander going “woo” or “wow.” Those were appropriate reactions to all of the difficult shots Warren made that night, and NC State needed all of them, too.
The second 40-pointer was at home against Boston College:
And here is a more extended highlight reel from that season:
Warren actually got better once league play started, which is impressive especially when you consider that he accounted for over 38% of the Pack’s field goal attempts while he was on the floor. Still he made 56.5% of his twos while also improving his three-point accuracy to 34.5%. Yeah, that’s the kind of year that rightfully gets your number in the rafters.
