Eric Lockett has not suited up for the NC State basketball team since being charged with misdemeanor assault on a woman—his ex-girlfriend, in this case—in mid-February. That charge was dismissed this week by the Wake County district attorney’s office, opening the door for Lockett’s potential return to the Wolfpack
He will not be available to play in the Pack’s game on Florida State on Saturday—as Joe Giglio reports, Lockett still has to be cleared by the university, which is also investigating his conduct in the incident. If that goes well, only then would he be eligible to return to the basketball team.
He’s already missed four games and Saturday will be the fifth. Prior to being suspended, he logged at least 10 minutes off the bench in nine straight games.
In other roster news, transfer forward Sacha Killeya-Jones announced via Twitter that his is cutting the cord on his college basketball career and turning pro. I wish him all the best.
