About the only summary necessary today is the fact that NC State led Boston College by double figures for the final 27 minutes of the game. The Wolfpack asserted control, didn’t give the Eagles any real reason for hope, and the second half was academic.
NC State came out of the locker room in the second half and kept on rolling, outscoring the Eagles 17-6 over the first 4+ minutes, pushing its lead to 28. That was enough to break BC’s back for good, and the rest of the game was garbage time, essentially. A nice, stress-free afternoon.
C.J. Bryce paced State with 14 points on 6-11 shooting, and Torin Dorn added 12. If you just looked at the shooting numbers for the Pack, you’d probably never guess they won as easily as they did ... at least not until you looked at BC’s shooting numbers.
The Eagles were just 16-60 from the field, and Ky Bowman was only 4-15. Jordan Chatman finished 2-13. Boston College wasn’t nearly as successful on the offensive glass as it was in Raleigh, and that combined with the shooting erased any possibility of a rally this time around.
NC State closes out the regular season 21-10 (9-9). The Pack has a date with Clemson in the second round of the ACC tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
