PNC Arena will have a brand new center-hung video board installed prior to the start of the hockey and college basketball seasons this fall. This upgrade has been a done deal for a while, but renderings weren’t made public until Friday afternoon. It’s 180% larger than the current arena video board.
Coming to @PNCArena in time for the start of next season. A new state-of-the-art video board!

Fancy!
This is the first in what figures to be a long line of improvements to the arena, which is heading toward a facelift that could cost well over $100 million. The Carolina Hurricanes are the main driver behind that as they negotiate for an extension on their lease with the building, which currently runs through 2024. PNC Arena turns 20 years old this year, hard as that is to believe, and it is definitely due for some updates.
