NC State has not released its non-conference schedule yet, though we know a good chunk of it by now: Auburn, Memphis, Wisconsin, App State, UNCG, and now, The Citadel. According to that school’s schedule announcement Wednesday, the Bulldogs will play in Raleigh on Dec. 22.

The Citadel finished last season ranked 275th in NET and 257th in the Pomeroy Ratings. Let’s hope they can keep it in that ballpark again in 2019, what for strength of schedule reasons.

The Bulldogs aren’t any good, no, but they do lose with style, so there’s that. Head coach Dugger Baucom loves pushing tempo to the extreme—at his previous stop, VMI, his teams were like a slightly mellowed-out Grinnell. Tons and tons of three-point attempts while pushing and pushing some more.

His Citadel teams have finished first or second in tempo in three of his four seasons there and finished 10th in that category last season. Nearly 54% of the team’s field goal attempts were threes.

With NC State also more than willing to run, this should be a wild one. Not especially close, mind you, but wild nonetheless.
