What did we know about Miami heading in to Wednesday night? The Hurricanes struggle to defend the interior, so it shouldn’t take a bunch of three-point attempts to crack them. Miami also has been giving up plenty of second-chance opportunities.
NC State played pretty well to those weaknesses en route to beating Miami by 17.
Only a third of the Pack’s shots were three-pointers, so there wasn’t an over-reliance on perimeter scoring, though the Pack hit 45% of those shots. NC State made 49% of its two-pointers, which is a little below the average Miami had been giving up coming in but not a terrible performance.
NC State also grabbed over 36% of its missed shots, led by DJ Funderburk, who had four offensive rebounds. The team shot well overall, rebounded well offensively, and also only turned the ball over seven times. The end result was NC State’s most efficient offensive performance of the season.
