UNC tends to play well offensively against NC State no matter what, so in the rare case of the Tar Heels scoring less than a point per possession, the Wolfpack needs to jump on the opportunity—and it did that Tuesday to get off the damn schneid against Roy.
The Heels posted their third-worst shooting performance of the season while also turning the ball over on 23.4% of their possessions. That’s good work defensively by the Pack.
A good way to become popular quickly in Raleigh is to nearly double your career high with a breakout performance against those guys from Chapel Hill, and Shakeel Moore was up to that task. Moore had an outstanding first half at both ends of the floor and this was the first time in his brief career that he cracked double figures in scoring. Seventeen points in 15 minutes was a huge boost, and oh yeah, it’s a lot of fun to watch him dunk the ball.
