It’s about time we got an extremely modest amount of respect around here! An exceptional paucity, a tremendous skosh. Or to put a fine point on it: two AP voters had NC State on their top 25 ballots this week after the Wolfpack defeated UNC. (Remember when we beat UNC? That was awesome.)
The Pack also picked up votes from the coaches, though State lags behind the Tar Heels in the “also receiving votes” category of both polls, and whatever, you know the nature of these things.
Our two AP heroes: Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News and David Jablonski of Dayton Daily News, both of whom slotted NC State in at No. 22. Well done, men. The rest of the voters have been and shall remain dead to me until they come around.
Florida State is the highest-ranked ACC team in either poll, at 18/19. It’s pretty strange not seeing an ACC team in the top 15 regardless of where we’re at in the season, but the league is off to an unimpressive start as a whole.
