NC State’s regular season most likely will come to a conclusion Wednesday night, because Virginia Tech will not be making the trip to Raleigh this weekend. The season-finale between the Hokies and Wolfpack has been canceled due to more COVID-19 issues within the Virginia Tech program.
The Tech program has been hit hard in the last month by the virus, and the team has played only four times since the start of February. Seven of its league games ended up canceled.
For NC State, it’s a bummer for the seniors, who won’t have a traditional farewell game unless there is a late addition to the schedule. It also costs the team one last shot at a decent resume win as the Pack tries to make a last-minute surge onto the bubble. So it just plain sucks all around.
On the bright side, this means that NC State is guaranteed to finish the season with a .500 or better overall record!
