Braxton Beverly will finish his college basketball career at Eastern Kentucky

NCAA Basketball: N.C. State at Georgia Tech Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Braxton Beverly announced Tuesday morning that he’ll be spending his last season of college basketball at Eastern Kentucky, reuniting with coach A.W. Hamilton, who coached him at both Hargrave Military Academy and NC State.

Beverly is a Kentucky-native as well.

I’m assuming this was a planned roster move for NC State and Kevin Keatts, since the Wolfpack has a lot of guards on hand including the two incoming freshmen, and as much as we all love Beverly, it’s probably best from a roster standpoint to bid farewell.

It’ll be weird not seeing him out on the court, though—he’s been there for every step of Keatts’ tenure in Raleigh and it’s hard to think of one without the other. I wish Beverly had been able to stay healthier in his time at State, but regardless, he was a difference-maker on the perimeter, and nobody could ever question his effort.

He also gave us this:

Thanks for everything, Braxton.
