NC State guard Shakeel Moore is entering the transfer portal, per reports

NC State freshman guard Shakeel Moore is headed to the transfer portal, per various reports Friday. Now if you will all excuse me for a second as I attempt to process this unwelcome news.

Nope, that didn’t help. Perhaps if I smack myself across the forehead with a large piece of lumber, I’ll feel better. Will try that later.

Shakeel Moore was one of the more exciting and entertaining guys to suit up at guard for NC State, and he was a personal favorite, so of course it didn’t end up working out for him in Raleigh. I suppose this move isn’t a huge shock based on rumblings this spring, but it hurts pretty good nonetheless.

I feel like there’s plenty of room in the rotation for Moore to get significant playing time moving forward, but if he doesn’t feel that way, well, maybe he’s right. In any case, if he’s unhappy at State, then moving on is the right thing to do. I wish him the best with the rest of his college career, but it really stinks that his time here is apparently finished.
