NC State is in the 2022 Battle 4 Atlantis, per report

We are returning to the mythical island of Atlantis and this time, it’s personal.

NC State is one of eight teams that will participate in the 2022 Battle 4 Atlantis, according to Jon Rothstein. Kansas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Butler, Dayton, BYU, and USC are also reportedly in the field.

As you might recall, NC State played in the 2017 Battle 4 Atlantis, in Kevin Keatts’ first season with the Wolfpack. State pulled off a big upset of Arizona, then lost to Northern Iowa and Tennessee. The battle was lost then, but if you thought that Kevin Keatts was simply going to give up on conquering Atlantis, then my friend, you were wrong.

And what man, having tasted such a prize, could quit on it? I know many people have wondered, “Coach Keatts, why did you spend many months over the course of years searching for those enchanted runestones you finally recovered from a shipwreck in the Bermuda Triangle, and what application to basketball could the stones’ immense mystical powers possibly have?”

But those people forgot about Atlantis. Many have. I hear Kansas is making the trip with just some lousy cursed skulls on hand, and not even that many cursed skulls, only like four or five. You think those are gonna get Bill Self far on Atlantis? He might send BYU running for home but that’s about it. Neither he nor any of the others are ready for what they’ll face, but Kevin Keatts is fully prepared to fulfill his destiny.
