A team of NC State basketball alumni is gunning for a million bucks this summer, competing for the top prize in The Basketball Tournament. This team of NC State alums includes Richard Howell, Cat Barber, Trevor Lacey, Scott Wood, Torin Dorn, Ralston Turner, CJ Williams, Terry Henderson, Dez Lee, ... and Q.J. Peterson.

Now, I know what a lot of you are thinking: “I don’t remember any Q.J. Peterson playing at State.” And you’re right: Peterson was a big-time standout at VMI who averaged better than 19 points per game in each of his four seasons there, having never in the process played for NC State.
He is a natural scorer at 6’0, giving this Wolf Blood team a guy who can put up points off the bounce and draw fouls. There exists no criteria for becoming an honorary NC State basketball alumnus, at least not before now. But Q.J. Peterson is now in that club, and think we should welcome him aboard properly. This is going to be a fun summer.
