US PRESSWIRE

The Wisconsin Badgers posted a job opening for their offensive coordinator position Thursday, which means that incumbent OC Matt Canada is on his way elsewhere. Might that elsewhere be NC State? It's been speculated he might be a coaching target for Dave Doeren, and the two worked together at Northen Illinois last season. The Huskies finished that year ranked 15th nationally in total offense, ninth in scoring, and ninth in rushing. Wisconsin is 62nd in total offense this year.

At the least, we know he isn't joining Bret Bielema at Akansas like Chris Ash did--Bielema tabbed Jim Chaney as his OC on Wednesday.

Canada has extensive coaching experience in the Big Ten and midwest. Since becoming an assistant in the early 1990s, he's spent time as offensive coordinator at Butler and Indiana, in addition to NIU and Wisconsin. He graduated from college in 1993, which means he'd be another youthful addition to NC State's new staff.
