Matt Canada Talks Move To NC State

Richard Mackson-US PRESSWIRE

NC State will be Matt Canada's fourth coaching destination in as many years, so it's understandable that there might be, as he put it, "some frustration" with Bret Bielema leaving Wisconsin out of the blue and all the uncertainty that comes with that.

"There’s some frustration with the way all this went down. There are a lot of people’s lives that are affected by things like this, but it’s our business. We chose this business. It’s a great profession and it’s part of the business, but I think everybody probably deserved a little more time to celebrate the championship. It is what it is and we’ll all move forward."

I get a stuck-between-a-rock-and-a-hard-place kind of vibe from this whole press conference, like he didn't want to leave, but felt he had no other choice since Wisconsin had yet (and still hasn't) hired a new head coach. But he added that he is excited to work with Dave Doeren once again, and hopefully he can expect a more permanent home this time around. They certainly share the same haircut philosophy.
