Anthony Talbert No Longer with the Program

Rising redshirt senior Anthony Talbert is no longer listed on the N.C. State football team's official roster at Gopack.com, and the university recently confirmed that he has left the program. Talbert's departure leaves three scholarship tight ends on the team: redshirt senior Asa Watson, redshirt sophomore Benson Browne, and redshirt freshman David Grinnage.

Only Watson, who had 24 catches for 218 yards and a touchdown last season, has a career catch among the returnees. Talbert played in 39 games over his career and caught four balls for 48 yards a season ago. He had just one career catch before making three grabs in the bowl loss to Vanderbilt.

N.C. State does not have a tight end commitment from the 2013 class, though 6-6, 210-pound Pharoah McKever could possibly grown into the role. The Pack do have verbals from two potential tight ends from the class of 2014.

Talbert is expected to graduate and be able to transfer and play immediately for his senior season.
