In exciting news for pleated slacks lovers and ACC football fans, the Charlotte-based Belk Bowl is rumored to be replacing the now defunct Big East's slot with an SEC program starting in 2014. We'll all have to get our sexy Cincy-Duke matchup fix some other way.
With the Big East having little fan support for football, the Belk Bowl has understandably struggled to fill seats; Bank of America stadium was barely half full for last year's Bearcats and Blue Devils battle. That should change with the addition of the rabid fanbases of the SEC. Suddenly this game is looking like a prime destination rather than a lame consolation for a 7-5 season.
