Red Light Returns: Tyler Jones Flips From Mississippi State To NC State

Liz Condo-USA TODAY Sports

Three-star offensive lineman Tyler Jones had been committed to his "second option," Mississippi State, but he had the opportunity to go with his top choice on Monday, and that's what he did, flipping his verbal from MSU to NC State. Now, all of that probably made absolutely no sense to you or at least led to some mild consternation. Welcome to recruiting, friend!

Perhaps this is why the red light was not officially turned on by NC State coaches on Twitter. Nonetheless, we are having our own red light party right here, complete with all the #goodjuice you can handle. Wait, no wait that's not what I-- ah crap this just got weird.

Jones holds offers from poor, poor Mississippi State, as well as Ohio State, UNC, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Wake and Boston College. He is the 35th-best offensive guard prospect in the 2014 class according to the 247Sports composite, and the No. 652 overall player in the class.
