NC State had been trying to land a couple of quarterbacks for 2015, since there isn't any depth to speak of on the roster. Right now it's Jacoby Brissett starting with the ones, backed up by Dave Doeren's hopes and career, and beyond them, Jalan McClendon is there to burn his redshirt as necessary.
State was after four-star QB Lorenzo Nunez and three-star QB Kelly Bryant, but both chose to play their college ball in South Carolina. Earlier this week, another Wolfpack target, Kendall Hinton, committed to Wake Forest. Shortly after that, consensus three-star quarterback Austin King committed to NC State.
King holds a bunch of mid-major offers, including South Florida, Old Dominion, and Troy (all of them future NCSU opponents). UCF and West Virginia also have offered.
King is listed at around 6'3 and 190 pounds, but the recruiting services haven't decided whether or not he's a pro-style QB or a dual-threat QB. So he's one of those. Probably that one, rather than the other one, but it's hard to say.
