Three-star defensive tackle Quentez Johnson committed to State after an interesting recruitment. The Georgia product officially picked the Wolfpack over Tennessee and Oregon on July 4th. Johnson has offers listed from all over the country, and defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen was pretty pumped about this one.
With State missing on some major talent recently, this was a nice pickup to stem the tide. There is one spot left at defensive tackle (please be Shy Tuttle) and this should help build on last year's impressive class along the defensive line. There are likely two spots open on the line for the class, as long as they are top prospects.
Johnson is a nice pickup both for his size and because of the area he comes from. Johnson has already started recruiting for the 2015 class. Johnson was briefly committed to Miami, but decided to reassess his options. After a camp visit to Raleigh with his team a few weeks ago, Johnson had some great things to say about the Wolfpack. When he insinuated a commitment would be coming shortly after that visit, signs were positive. He confirmed his commitment via Twitter.
