NC State football recruiting: WR Emeka Emezie re-commits to Wolfpack

Okay, sure, why not.

Here’s an odd twist: wide receiver Emeka Emezie, who decommitted from NC State on Sept. 22, is now back in the fold. Often when a kid decommits, it means he is completely done with the school, so re-commitments are rare—not to mention re-commitments within two weeks.

But NC State’s coaches definitely will take it. Emezie is a consensus three-star prospect from the Charlotte area and is ranked among the top 20 prospects in North Carolina. At around 6’4 and 200 pounds, he possesses great size for the position and perhaps could make an early impact for the Wolfpack’s offense.

He’s earned plenty of attention from power-five schools—which might be why he decommitted initially—including Miami, West Virginia, Syracuse, Boston College, Kentucky, and Wake Forest. This season he has 35 catches for 457 yards, per The Wolfpacker.

I don’t know what changed in the span of a mere 11 days, but college football recruiting is a strange and warped little world. Probably best not to think on these things too hard.
