NC State picked up its third verbal commitment of June when New Jersey athlete Daevon Robinson announced his pledge to the Wolfpack on Tuesday. Robinson was down to the Pack, Rutgers, and UConn.
Robinson is a consensus three-star prospect and ranked amont the top-25 recruits in New Jersey. As a junior in 2016, he played on both sides of the ball for Shawnee High School; he played receiver, ran the ball out of the backfield, and also played as an edge rusher. He caught 29 passes for 225 yards and a score and also racked up 25 tackles.
It’s not clear at this point what his college position will be, though at 6’4 and 210, he’s probably not a running back. With more bulk, he could develop into a solid player at tight end, or perhaps defensive end.
Robinson holds offers from Virginia Tech, Virginia, Boston College, and Temple, in addition to the schools already mentioned.
