With camp season drawing to a close, NC State picked up another verbal commitment, this time from in-state offensive lineman Gabriel Gonzalez. Gonzalez gives the Wolfpack a handful of commitments this month.

That’s NC State offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford applying the bear hug after not being entirely sure what’s going on at first.
Gonzalez is a consensus three-star offensive tackle from Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane, and he has recently visited UNC, Virginia Tech, and ECU. He was a top target for the Hokies. He holds a number of commitable offers from power-conference schools, including West Virginia, Duke, Wake Forest, and Vanderbilt.
With Gonzalez the latest cap on a busy June, NC State’s 2018 recruiting class is up to 34th nationally in the 247 Composite rankings, and eighth within the ACC. That’s a jump of 15 spots or so in the national rankings since this month started. Gonzalez was the second verbal of the day, joining New Jersey athlete/wideout Jasiah Provillon.
