The Opening is an event for top recruits held each year and hosted by Nike, and it’s one of the biggest recruiting events of the year. A bunch of the country’s top high school prospects assemble there to go through some drills and play in a 7-on-7 tournament. NC State quarterback commit Devin Leary was among them this year.
Here are a few clips of Leary in action during 7-on-7s:

Leary earned his way to The Opening by becoming an Elite 11 finalist; the Elite 11 competition is a quarterback-only event for the nation’s top QB prospects. Leary has impressed college scouts throughout the spring and summer, which of course leads to the unfortunate consequence—for NC State, anyway—of big-name schools trying to get involved in his recruitment.
Leary hasn’t wavered at all in his commitment to NC State, though, and he was on campus just a couple of weeks ago.
