A couple of significant NC State football recruiting targets will announce their college choices in the next nine days: Greenwood, SC, tight end Luke Deal and Wake Forest, NC, linebacker Drake Thomas. Both are well-regarded prospects in the 2019 class.
Deal is up first, with his commitment set for Friday. NC State was the first school that offered him a scholarship, which helped keep the Wolfpack in contention as his recruitment blew up. Clemson, Auburn, Notre Dame, and Ohio State are among the many big-name programs that have offered.
He is a consensus three-star prospect, though he is a four-star recruit in the 247Sports rankings. (I tend to trust 247 more than the other services, at least when it comes to football.)
Drake Thomas will make his announcement on June 1 at his high school.
I will be announcing my commitment next Friday on June 1st at 3:30 in the Heritage Gym‼️

Thomas has an impressive offer sheet of his own: Alabama, Michigan, and Clemson, among plenty of others. NC State’s odds of landing a verbal appear to be a lot stronger with Thomas, but what with this being college football recruiting, you never know anything for sure.
