NC State is hosting 4-star quarterback Michael Johnson Jr. this week

NCAA Football: North Carolina at North Carolina State Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Johnson Jr. is a four-star dual threat quarterback who holds offers from, oh, just about everybody. He visited Penn State earlier this month and is on campus in Raleigh this week for an official visit to NC State. He is also expected to visit Florida State this weekend.

Johnson is a major Miami target, and there are decent odds that he ends up at Oregon—he’s not only from the state, his dad is on the Ducks’ staff. Those are difficult circumstances to overcome, and UO leads in the always-reliable (just kiddin’) 247Sports Crystal Ball.

So NC State’s chances of landing Johnson are perhaps not so great at this point, but then again, State has been on the sort of roll where I wouldn’t be surprised about anything. Getting a kid on campus for a visit always helps, and it does imply some measure of interest on Johnson’s part.

Johnson is a member of the ‘19 class and is listed at 6’2.5 and 192 pounds.
