While the jury remains out on the baseball team, I can say for sure that Dave Doeren is fully embracing the June spirit. His coaching staff has picked up three verbal commitments since Friday afternoon, all three from North Carolina.
The first was linebacker Drake Thomas, who picked State over a bunch of big-name programs. Next to commit was slot receiver Keyon Lesane, who is from Mathews, NC. Lesane is a consensus three-star prospect who also holds offers from UNC, ECU, and Syracuse. The Tar Heels were very much interested.
On Saturday afternoon, lineman Zovon Lindsay—also a consensus three-star prospect—verbaled to the Wolfpack. Lindsay primarily plays defensive tackle in high school but is being recruited by the NC State staff to play on the offensive line. The 6-4, 266-pound Lindsay is from Fayetteville. He also has offers from South Carolina, UVA, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.
Lesane and Lindsay are the seventh and eighth members of NC State’s 2019 class, which boasts seven in-state kids so far.
