NC State continues to clean up in North Carolina. The Wolfpack picked up a verbal commitment on Friday night from consensus three-star offensive tackle Triston Miller, who plays for Charlotte County Day. Miller is the first Charlotte prospect to pick State in this recruiting cycle.

This is the sixth straight year that Dave Doeren has earned a commitment from at least one player from Charlotte.

Miller is perhaps the best tackle prospect in the state and chose NC State over offers from UNC, Arkansas, and Kentucky, among others. His father preferred UNC, per the Charlotte Observer’s Langston Wertz Jr. Sorry, dad.

Miller is being recruited by NC State as its left tackle of the future, which according to Wertz is where he will play as a senior for his high school this fall.

He is the 11th in-state player to commit to State in this cycle, with more sure to come. There’s no question that the Pack has an edge with in-state recruits right now; Miller is just the latest recruiting battle won over the Tar Heels.

He also bumped State’s class to No. 22 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings.
