NC State is recruiting former Wake Forest receiver/nemesis Tabari Hines

Funny how things work out, ain’t it.

NC State has a big football recruiting weekend on tap, with a number of top targets in the 2020 and 2021 classes set to visit, and hey, do you remember Tabari Hines? You should—when he played for Wake Forest, he posted season-high receiving yardage against State in both 2016 and 2017. He caught three touchdown passes in that 2017 game.

Hines left the Wake program for Oregon, and now he’s transferring again, with State being one of his more likely landing spots. How the college football world turns! Hines will be in Raleigh this weekend, as Pack Pride’s Michael Clark reports, and he’d be an immediate addition for a receiving corps that is forced to replace two all-league players.

Hines’ Oregon career was cut short by injury, but he was fantastic for Wake, ending his final season there with 683 yards and seven scores on 53 catches. I don’t know what it was that led him to leave Wake Forest, but State stands to benefit. Maybe he just wants to even things out.
