NC State lost on Thursday night but life (and recruiting) goes on. The Wolfpack landed a commitment on Friday afternoon from consensus three-star wide receiver prospect Jalen Coit, who is from South Carolina.

Coit holds offers from power-five schools that include Tennessee, Miami, Purdue, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Coit is listed at 5’11 and 163 pounds by 247Sports. He is also ranked as a top-25 prospect in South Carolina.

His slight frame might make it difficult for Coit to contribute right away, but he’s got the wheels to become a potential big play target down the road. He has 825 receiving yards on just 44 receptions (18.8 YPC) in 2018, to go with 13 touchdowns. That’s a score every three-and-a-half catches or so.

Coit is the first prospect from South Carolina to join NC State’s 2020 recruiting class, and the 16th player overall. The Wolfpack’s relatively small class ranks 42nd in the 247 Composite.
